Lookup tables are a powerful and underused feature for Revit families. They allow you to import a CSV file inside a Revit family and include a vast list of dimensions and values.
That means you can import an Excel file inside a Revit family.
When building complex families with a lot of possible dimensions, lookup tables allow you to easily get values without being forced to use a lot of nested if statement formulas. In this session, you will learn to:
- What are lookup tables, and when should you use them.
- How to prepare lookup tables and set the formulas.
- Examples of real Revit families with lookup tables.
- Pushing beyond the limits: using hash values and multi-variables
