Revit + AI Tutorial | Generate & Extract Area Information

In this video, we use Claude Code and pyRevit MCP to extract apartment data from a Revit model.

Starting from Areas, Claude calculates information such as:

• Distance to stairs and elevators
• Number and area of windows
• Number of neighboring units
• Maximum ceiling height

The values are then stored directly into Revit Areas, as project parameters.

We also turn the workflow into a reusable pyRevit tool, so the calculations can be repeated without having to prompt Claude every time.

Finally, we look at ways to export the results to Excel and some important limitations to watch for when using AI-generated BIM data.
