TOP 5 MOST POPULAR Revit Pure Live EPISODES

Once again, I’ve had an absolute blast hosting the world’s best BIM experts on live YouTube sessions! It’s hard to describe how fun and fulfilling these episodes are.

This year, we’ve had 20 live sessions. Here are the top 5 most popular episodes:

1- EPISODE 35 : BIM AT BIG WITH JENS MAJDAL KAARSHOLM

This session was a dream come true for me. I’ve been an absolute BIG fan since my college days. To host their Design Technology Leader and hear how they use BIM and technology made me incredibly happy.

The insights shared by Jens are priceless. They also include funny quirks, such as a BIG building transformed into a Counter-Strike map.

Another bit that made me smile: BIG’s Revit toolbar includes a Revit Pure button that links to our PDF guides:

TEACHING TO A COHORT OF 25 STUDENTS

From November 28th to December 14th, I taught a course called “Advanced Revit Family Strategies” to 25 students. The course focused on creating lean families and making efficient use of arrays, formulas, and shared components.

It was amazing! I love the challenging questions from the students and the interactive aspect of the course. Maybe I will run a second cohort in the spring. Are you interested? You can join the waitlist. Click here.

THE AI REVOLUTION

The AI tools that emerged this year blew me away. On one side, you have art-generating tools such as Midjourney, which can create hyper-realistic images. Some users started to use this tool to generate architectural ideas. The image below has been generated by Midjourney with a prompt from Hassan Ragab, a computational designer.

It is meant as a façade study in preparation for a workshop.

ChatGPT by OpenAI emerged late in the year. Some people in the BIM community have been excited about it, while others claim it has limited use, at least for programming.

There is no doubt these technologies are going to create a revolution in most industries, including AEC.

WHAT ARE THE PLANS FOR 2023?

We have big plans for the future of Revit & BIM education! In the coming year, Revit Pure will evolve to become BIM Pure.

I have already been using the name BIM Pure for my consulting company. We are working on a new learning website that will also use this name and extend beyond Revit. There is still a lot of work to be done on this project before it is ready. Stay tuned.

Nothing would be possible without you, dear Revit Pure reader. Thanks for being here! Looking forward to an amazing 2023. Cheers!

Nick
